Do you want to know how I filmed this Maserati MC20 at HR Owen Maserati Manchester? Yes. Same here - Welcome to how I filmed this MC20.

Before I Filmed A Maserati MC20

Saturday Morning, Jonny asked me, "What showroom do you want to practice at, so you can learn how to set up the Edelkeone video equipment?"

I said, "Maserati Manchester. On Autotrader, it appears as if they've got an MC20". Jonny said, "let's go to Maserati Manchester". I charged my Gimbal and phone, ready for the video shoot."

After Jonny washed the van, we took our video trolly towards the vehicle and took a layer off to make placing in the van easier. Then we went to the second layer of the trolly and placed the heavier equipment on the floor, later packed in the van for ease.

Once we placed the equipment into the van, we headed off to Maserati Manchester to film the MC20. When at the dealership, Jonny and I asked the receptionist, "please can we film and photograph the Maserati MC20 in the showroom"?

The host said, "sure". Jonny also asked the receptionist, "please can we move our van closer to the showroom"? They said, "that's alright".

How I Filmed A Maserati MC20

Jonny brought the equipment into the showroom to see what Edelkrone equipment we'd like to film when recording the MC20 in the dealership.

Jonny prepped the Edelkrone equipment with DollyPlus, to record the side profile scene of the Maserati MC20. Interestingly enough, Jonny discovered that the DollyPlus now has an arc feature to film around the MC20 in the showroom.

Jonny plotted the side profile to the front-three-quarter arch scene of the Maserati MC20 by adjusting the focus peaking from the start to focus peaking at the end of the scene.

Finally, I assisted Jonny with removing the parts DollyPlus to swap to the Edelkrone JibOne to perform crane shots of the front of the Maserati MC20.

Though Jonny had tension issues with the weights on the JibOne when filming the crane scene of the MC20, one of the scenes came out fantastically. After filming the Maserati MC20, we took the parts of the Edelkrone JibOne and placed the parts into the trolly for ease of access.

While packing away, we spoke to Paddy. Paddy said, "hi. The equipment is massive - Are you doing well?" I replied, "I'm doing well. It looks like the Lamborghini showroom's getting an overhaul".

Paddy said, "It gives us a greater capacity to fill more cars in the showroom, and more privacy as staff to work and speak to clients when children come in the showroom and view the Lamborghini's".

How I Edited The Video Of The Maserati MC20

I firstly imported and renamed the video files of the Maserati MC20, so I could find files easier in Premiere Pro. Then, I added a film folder in Premiere Pro to rapidly search videos. Indeed!

The first scene I edited was a side profile shot of the Maserati MC20 going from the rear to the front. Then I colour graded the video to remove the blues and give a more cinematic feel to the clip.

Then I sped up the side profile clip to 800% to make the video more engaging to watch. Then I exported the clip and imported the clip into my speed film folder. Later, I re-exported and re-imported my clip into my speed film folder.

The second scene I edited was a side profile to front-three-quarter of the Maserati. Next, I colour graded the clip to make it more consistent to match the advert.

Then, I sped up the side to front-three-quarter video to 800% to match the previous clip. After, I exported the clip and imported the clip into my speed film folder. Later, I re-exported and re-imported my clip into my speed film folder.

The final clip I edited was a front Jib scene of the Maserati MC20. I applied my previous colour grading preset. Then, I sped up the clip to 500% and exported the clip and imported the clip into my speed film folder. Later, I re-exported and re-imported my clip into my speed film folder.

Then I added engaging transitions to the Maserati MC20 showreel to pique audiences' interests. Another item to add class to the video was a relaxing lo-fi jazz soundtrack. Finally, I rendered all the clips and exported my video to my output folder.

Conclusion

How long how you waited to see a Maserati MC20? Two years. Though logistics weren't on Maserati's side, I had an opportunity to film this MC20 in early March 2022.
