Why A Peugeot Partner - Not A Hyundai i30N Performance?

Why A Peugeot Partner - Not a Hyundai i30N Performance? Great question - Here's why I chose a Peugeot Partner over a Hyundai i30N Performance.

Ease Of Access

Though the Hyundai i30N Performance can fit three dogs in the boot, we had to fold the seats down to accompany the video equipment in the i30N Performance.

Jonny considered getting a Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate for better ergonomics and insurance. However, the infotainment system didn't appeal to Jonny. In addition, the boot wasn't deep enough for us.

However, the Peugeot Partner has a lower lip, making it easier for Jonny and me to load our photography and film equipment into the van's cargo bay.

Comfier Driving Dynamics

Though the Hyundai i30N Performance's a competent drivers car, the high profile rims contrasted heavily against the deep potholes. Jonny couldn't order a lower profile tire for the i30N Performance.

The Alcantara seats were pretty comfy for shorter journies. However, it lacked on motorway treks. The Volkswagen Golf GTD and Tesla Model S were considered i30N Performance replacements.

More Fuel-Efficient

Topical, aren't we? Sadly not, from Late-September to Mid-October 2021, the U.K faced unneeded fuel shortages from unfounded mass hysteria. So on our way to film and photograph at TRAX Silverstone 2021, we had to be very strategic in fueling the i30N Performance.

Though the i30N's conserves fuel very well, the Peugeot Partner achieves 61mpg-69mpg. Fantastic for keeping our costs lower and driving further for photo/film shoots in the U.K. Yay!

Practicality

When Jonny prepped 90kgs' of Edelkrone video equipment for TRAX Silverstone, he called me and said, "I'm amazed that I took all the equipment into the car!" I replied with, what! The Ronin S-C Gimbal broke, and how are we supposed to take the laptop, toiletry and camera bag into the car?"

Jonny said, "we're getting a C-Class estate, or three-seater van". On our journey to Silverstone. I replied, "fantastic idea! Should we choose a Ford Transit or a Volkswagen Caddy for transporting dogs and carrying equipment?"

Branding

While choosing our van, Jonny and I discussed should we keep our van plain or wrapped? There are horror stories of people's wrapped vans getting stolen, but we wanted a memorable motorsport-Inspired van.

After weeks of waiting and discussing how we should wrap the van, APM Customs completed the Partner Van, and I celebrated by getting some video of the van outside of APM Customs.

Becoming a camera rig

Though I initially had qualms about filming out of the boot of, van (too many physics and legal questions), Jonny's got some ideas on safe filming and photographing cars on the roads.

We've ordered two GoPro Hero 10's for recording the car overtake and undertake on a dual-carriageway. So we can manage both static and moving videos of our subject.

Conclusion

Why a Peugeot Partner - Not a Hyundai i30N Performance? Performance. Are you serious - Still, from the ease of loading, practicality, comfortability and a better vehicle to advertise Vivid Auto Photography.
